Former Player Has Massive Prediction for Steelers
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers offense has shown little to no light at the end of the tunnel this season. And with Mitch Trubisky at quarterback, most people's expectations took a step down.
Not one analyst.
Former NFL running back Maurice Jones-Drew says the Steelers are going to explode against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15. During NFL.com's segment of bold predictions, Jones-Drew said the Steelers are going to put up a whopping 30 points this weekend.
"The Pittsburgh Steelers are averaging a putrid 16.2 points per game this season, ranking 28th in the NFL. They haven’t reached 20 points since Week 10, and their season-high (26 points) came back in a Week 2 win over the Cleveland Browns," Jones-Drew said. "Well, this is the bold predictions article, so that’s what I’m going to give you. Pittsburgh scores a whopping 30 points with backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky on Saturday, lifting them to victory and keeping them in the playoff chase."
As Jones-Drew said, the Steelers' season came in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns in a 26-22 win. But in that game, the offense only scored once, while the defense found the endzone two times, including the game-winning fumble recovery by T.J. Watt.
The Steelers will need some sort of spark from either side of the ball if they're going to keep their playoff hopes alive. The offense has continued to try and find some sort of life, but even with the firing of Matt Canada, the group has seen little to no success this season.
To score 30 points would probably be enough to collect a win over the Colts. So, Steelers fans will hope Jones-Drew's bold prediction comes true.
