NFL Fines Steelers LB Kwon Alexander - Again

The Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker was hit with his third fine.

PITTSBURGH -- The NFL has hit Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebacker Kwon Alexander for unnecessary roughness for the second time this season. Alexander was penalized for a hit during the team's Week 3 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, which is his second fine in back-to-back weeks.

The NFL fined Alexander $43,709 for a hit against the Raiders. He was not flagged for the penalty during the game.

Alexander was fined the same amount for an unnecessary roughness call against the Cleveland Browns in Week 2.

Being fined without a flag is now becoming a trend in Pittsburgh, with Alexander being the second in two weeks. He follows running back Jaylen Warren, who was hit with a $48,333 fine for an illegal use of the helmet penalty that was not called during the game.

His agent has made it known he plans to appeal the fine.

Alexander was fined for unnecessary roughness during the preseason as well, but the NFL retracted the decision.
