Steelers Acknowledge Joey Porter Jr. is Starter

The Pittsburgh Steelers could be making a change at cornerback.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers could make a change in the secondary moving forward, making rookie Joey Porter Jr. a starter on the outside at cornerback.

Porter started his first game in Week 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars with Levi Wallace sidelined with a foot injury. Head coach Mike Tomlin said after that with his performance, the rookie has done enough to be a full-time starter for the Steelers.

Porter has allowed just five completions this season while securing a game-changing interception against the Baltimore Ravens and recording three pass deflections.

It's not for certain if Tomlin confirmed Porter as the team's starter moving forward or if he was saying he's good enough to be a starter. Until the return of Wallace, it'll be up for interpretation, but it appears there's a strong change the rookie takes over with the first team.
