Steelers LB Alex Highsmith Named Defensive Player of Week

The Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker caught the eye of the entire NFL with his Week 2 performance.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Alex Highsmith has been named Week 2’s Defensive Player of the Week for his dominant performance against the Cleveland Browns.

Highsmith finished the game with five tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, interception and a touchdown. He scored the first touchdown of the game and forced the fumble to allow T.J. Watt to score the game-winning touchdown at the end of the game.

“Hopefully there's many more to come," Watt said about the performance after the game. "I'm just so happy to be able to play with a guy that loves the game so much. And that's not taking anything away from any other guys I played with. Everybody loves the game.”

This is Highsmith’s first Defensive Player of the Week honor in his career.
