Steelers WR Allen Robinson Suffers Head Injury
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a second injury in their Wild Card matchup with the Buffalo Bills, losing wide receiver Allen Robinson in the third quarter following a head injury.
Robinson's head hit the ground after a hard hit following a reception from Mason Rudolph. He was slow to stand up afterward before being escorted to the sideline by trainers. Upon a very short evaluation, they began to escort him to the locker room to check for a concussion.
The Steelers also lost cornerback Joey Porter Jr. to a head injury during the second half of the game.
Without Robinson, the Steelers will turn to George Pickens, Diontae Johnson and Calvin Austin as their top three receivers. Miles Boykin is also active and eligible to help in the receiving game. Tight ends Connor Heyward and Pat Freiermuth also have slot experience.
All Steelers will continue to provide updates to Robinson's injury as more information becomes available.
