Steelers' Ben Roethlisberger Begins Coaching Career
PITTSBURGH -- Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is picking up the headset for the first time as he begins his coaching career.
The future Hall of Famer is set to become the assistant coach for Quaker Valley Fighting Quakers, a youth football team for nine and ten-year-olds, according to CBS Sports.
Roethlisberger will take his ability to "draw plays in the dirt" to the coaching staff and he begins his journey back into football. Big Ben was always known for creating plays on his own, but in the back half of his career, it was well-known just how much he was able to create plays in the huddle and at the line of scrimmage. At that point, coaching felt inevitable.
Roethlisberger will continue to release episodes of his podcast, Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger, as he heads to the sideline.
The Pro Bowl quarterback ranks fifth all-time in the NFL with 178 wins, fifth in passing yards and eighth in touchdowns. He's eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2027.
