Steelers Rival David Njoku Injured in Home Fire

The Pittsburgh Steelers foe and Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku sustained the injuries in a home incident.

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers rival and Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku has been downgraded to questionable for the team's Week 4 game after sustaining burn injuries to his face and arms after a household incident, according to Browns reporter Jake Trotter.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Njoku suffered the injuries after an accident involving a firepit at his home. The tight end's agent tweeted after the news broke, confirming he is ok.

The 27-year-old has caught 10 passes for 92 yards this season, and is coming off his second-best season in the NFL, catching 58 passes for 628 yards and four touchdowns in 2022.

Without Njoku, the Browns have elevated Zaire Mitchell-Paden from the practice squad to add depth. Jordan Aikens will start if Njoku is unable to play.

The Browns host the Baltimore Ravens looking for their second AFC North win of the season. Pittsburgh currently leads the division and will host Baltimore next week.
