Steelers Fans Are Begging to Fire Matt Canada

Pittsburgh Steelers fans have hit a breaking point.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers scraped by with a 26-22 win over the Cleveland Browns in Week 2, but their offense once again failed to impress.

Kenny Pickett finished the game 15 of 30 for 222 yards and a touchdown, but also threw an interception - his third of the season. The running game accumulated just 51 yards on 16 attempts, and the defense actually outscored the offense on their way to the win.

The group continues to struggle, and to no surprise, fans are growing irritated with offensive coordinator Matt Canada.

It's hitting a breaking point, though.

During the fourth quarter, even with the Steelers winning, Acrisure Stadium filled with "Fire Matt Canada" chants. They weren't just normal chants, either. These were by far the loudest chants that were heard throughout the game, and some of the loudest Acrisure Stadium has heard in years.

After the game, Pickett and George Pickens were asked about the chants, but neither acknowledged they heard them.

"We were locked in on winning the game," Pickett said afterward. "I was going over two-minute, four-minute scenarios with the guys. Finding a way to win whatever we needed to do there at the end."

The Steelers offense has never reached the 400-yard mark with Canada as their offensive coordinator, and with the defense's help, the group scored 20-plus points for just the 10th time in Canada's tenure.

A change isn't likely as the Steelers have supported Canada throughout his run as offensive coordinator. Until something changes, though - either newfound success or a change of guard - the team should expect fans to voice their distaste during every home game.
