PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers walked away with two hefty fines following their Week 11 loss to the Cleveland Browns. The NFL announced both Alex Highsmith and Patrick Peterson will need to pay penalties for their play on the field.

Highsmith was fined $16,391 for a hit on Browns quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson. The play resulted in a roughing the pass call due to helmet-to-helmet contact created by the outside linebacker.

This is Highsmith's first fine of the season.

Peterson was fined for a facemask penalty on Browns running back Jerome Ford that was also called in-game. He was hit with a $10,927 fine, which is also his first of the season.

This season, the Steelers have been fined around $800,000. Fine amounts are predetermined each season and go toward a charity of the league's choosing. However, both players will have the option to appeal their penalties.
