Report: Steelers in Hunt for CB Trade
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are believed to be searching for a cornerback at the trade deadline. According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Steelers are one of three teams in the hunt for a move in their secondary.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin announced during his Week 9 press conference that rookie Joey Porter Jr. Now, they're operating with Patrick Peterson and Levi Wallace alongside their second-round pick, but are apparently looking for another young option for the second half of the year.
The Steelers have been linked to Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson, who was granted permission to seek a trade before the deadline. The 24-year-old has started 45 games in his young NFL career, and could be an option for Pittsburgh if they're looking to add to their room.
Another name that have been mentioned are Denver Broncos' Patrick Surtain II, but the haul for him could be a bit too pricey.
The NFL trade deadline is October 31 at 4 P.M. ET.
