Steelers Ready for Trade at Deadline
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have been named a landing spot for multiple potential trade candidates, and with the deadline approaching, they’re listening to offers.
When asked if the Steelers will be active during the deadline, head coach Mike Tomlin said they are “open for business.”
The Steelers could approach a number of teams for different positions. Many analysts have pushed for them to make a move for a cornerback, and with the injury to Minkah Fitzpatrick, they could add safety to their list of needs.
Pittsburgh has been linked to Denver Broncos’ Justin Simmons and Chicago Bears’ Jaylon Johnson and was even named odds-on favorites for Titans’ DeAndre Hopkins.
Broncos’ cornerback Patrick Surtain II has also been talked about as a fit for the Steelers. And even Carolina Panthers edge rusher Brian Burns has been tossed in the conversation.
Pittsburgh has been active at the deadline, making two moves last season to trade Chase Claypool and acquire William Jackson.
The deadline for trades this season is October 31 at 4 p.m. ET.
