Former Steelers LB Arrested for Reckless Driving
PITTSBURGH — Former Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick Jarvis Jones has been arrested for reckless driving and speeding, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The former NFL linebacker was booked at the Anthens-Clarke County Jail on Friday night and released on $2,400 bond.
Jones was the Steelers first-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Despite a star-studded career at Georgia, Jones played just four seasons on an active NFL roster, all with the Steelers. He finished his career with 50 games, including 35 starts, 130 tackles, six sacks, four forced fumbles and two interceptions.
He spent one year on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad after leaving Pittsburgh.
Jones is currently a member of Georgia’s football staff as a player connection coordinator. After the arrest, Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart said the incident is a "personal matter" and that there will be internal discipline for Jones.
