Steelers Meeting With Russell Wilson
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are planning to meet with former Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, and have interest in signing the veteran quarterback, according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac.
The Steelers are going to try and work out a deal for the veteran QB, and hope to add him to the mix during free agency. League sources have told All Steelers that the team is hoping to acquire Wilson and re-sign Mason Rudolph, rounding out their quarterback room with an experienced veteran and two younger pieces.
Wilson was released by the Broncos after two seasons in Denver. He is set to make over $37 million from the team this season, which could allow him to sign for a team like the Steelers for little money in 2024.
If the Steelers are able to add the Super Bowl champion for only a few million dollars this season, it is believed to be their top choice.
Wilson is 115-72-1 all-time as a starter in the NFL, earning nine Pro Bowls and a Lombardi trophy. He was 7-8 last season with the Broncos, throwing for 3,070 yards and 26 touchdowns to eight interceptions.
