PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers got great news on Minkah Fitzpatrick as the star safety was released from the hospital after being evaluated for a chest injury he suffered in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns.

Fitzpatrick left in the second half of the game with an injury and head coach Mike Tomlin confirmed afterward that he was taken to the local hospital for further testing. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Fitzpatrick was released the same night after being checked for a chest contusion.

All scans came back negative.

It's unknown if Fitzpatrick will miss time because of the injury. The Steelers have a short week after playing Monday night, but will still operate with three practices and a walk-through before heading to Las Vegas in Week 3.

According to Pelissero, Fitzpatrick is expected to be "fine" moving forward.

If Fitzpatrick is forced to miss time, Damontae Kazee and Keanu Neal would start at safety.
