Report: Steelers Get Pat Freiermuth Back for Browns Game

The Pittsburgh Steelers will get their tight end back from Injured Reserve.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are planning to activate tight end Pat Freiermuth off of Injured Reserve and expect him to play in Week 11 against the Cleveland Browns, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Freiermuth returned to practice for the first time since Week 7 after being placed on IR following a setback to his hamstring injury. He was a full participant in practice the last two days of the week but was listed as questionable coming into the weekend.

He'll now play against the Browns.

Freiermuth hasn't played since Week 4 but remains second on the team in receiving touchdowns with two. He's caught eight passes for 53 yards in four games.

"(Freiermuth) is another (target) that defenses have to respect with the way he works in the middle and (does) different things for us to really help the whole offense out,” quarterback Kenny Pickett said about Freiermuth's return.

The Steelers have two open roster spots, meaning they do not need to make a corresponding move to activate Freiermuth.
