Steelers Release Former Cowboys CB From Practice Squad

The Pittsburgh Steelers make a practice squad change at cornerback.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers made a furry of roster moves, placing defensive tackle Cam Heyward on Injured Reserve and promoting wide receiver Dez Fitzpatrick to the active roster.

They also made changes to their practice squad, releasing cornerback Anthony Brown and placing cornerback Josiah Scott on the practice squad/injured list, while adding cornerback Luq Barcoo and running back Gregg Bell to the team.

Brown was a headline-worthy name when the Steelers added him to the practice squad. The seven-year veteran was recently cleared to play after recovering from a torn achilles, and brought 69 games of starting experience to the group.

Instead, they'll roll with Barcoo, who spent the summer with the team after an impressive XFL performance in the spring. Barcoo was originally signed to the practice squad but released to create room for offensive lineman Ryan McCollum.
