Steelers Holding Pre-Draft Visits With Top CBs Tyrique Stevenson, Emmanual Forbes
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to stack their top 30 visits. According to CBS Miami's Mike Cugno, the team is bringing in Miami cornerback Tyrique Stevenson for a pre-draft meeting. WCBI's Jon Sokoloff also reports they're bringing in Mississippi State's Emmanual Forbes as well.
Stevenson met with the Steelers at the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine and will now give them a third look prior to the NFL Draft. He also has visits scheduled with the Baltimore Ravens and Dallas Cowboys.
Forbes is scheduled to visit with the Philadelphia Eagles, Cowboys, New England Patriots, Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans and Minnesota Vikings.
Stevenson and Forbes are the second and third corners to schedule a visit with Pittsburgh, following Georgia's Kelee Ringo.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said during the annual League Meetings that newly signed veteran Patrick Peterson will provide mentorship to younger players in the room. Many expect Pittsburgh to have their eyes on a corner and Stevenson may be an option in the second or third round, with Forbes being an option in the first.
The Miami product ran a 4.45 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. He brings 41 games for the Hurricanes, and 115 tackles, three interceptions and 21 tackles with him to the draft.
As for Forbes, he comes to the NFL with 14 interceptions and six touchdowns.
