New CB Option Emerges for Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers have an opportunity to jump on a cornerback.
In this story:

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers answer to their cornerback problem may have just hit the open market, and if they jump on the opportunity, they could find themselves in a better position than many believed possible.

As roster cuts come in, the belief was that the Steelers need to find an answer to their cornerback troubles, but the options would be limited. James Pierre appears to have regressed this offseason, but who Pittsburgh could find to replace him may not offer any more upside.

Teams typically aren't cutting quality players at this stage, and therefore, the Steelers could be stuck.

But then the Houston Texans made a move that surprised many. And as their second-round of roster cuts hit the waiver wire, an opportunity presented itself for the Steelers.

Not only does this former Texan have starting experience in the NFL, but he's coming off back-to-back decent seasons, and offers return ability on top of other special teams play.

Pittsburgh has an easy decision to make, and if they're serious about fixing their cornerback room before finalizing their 53-man roster, this might be the best name that enters the market.
