Why Are Steelers Doing This at QB?
PITTSBURGH -- Sometimes, the decisions that seem so clear to those on the outside are made so complicated by those on the inside. And as the Pittsburgh Steelers enter Week 16 in preparation for the Cincinnati Bengals, they're making one of those easy calls difficult.
The Steelers have yet to make a decision on who their starting quarterback will be in Week 16. After benching Mitch Trubisky against the Indianapolis Colts, the Steelers wanted time to sift through their options and make a final call before the game.
They're even considering Kenny Pickett as an option.
But the decision is simple. Very simple. After losing three straight games, this team's chances of making the postseason are slim to none. It doesn't mean they give up on the year, but it does mean they don't risk hurting their starting quarterback even more.
And when it comes to who they choose between Trubisky and Rudolph, the decision is a no-brainer. It's time for the Steelers to move on to their last resort at quarterback for at least a week.
