NFL Draft: Alabama EDGE Will Anderson Meets With Texans At Scouting Combine

NFL draft prospect Will Anderson acknowledged he met with the Houston Texans during the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine.

The general consensus has the Houston Texans drafting a quarterback with the No. 2 pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. But the opportunity to select their next franchise quarterback has not prevented the Texans from meeting with other top prospects at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine.

Alabama star linebacker Will Anderson Jr. publicized he has met with the Texans and general manager Nick Caserio. Anderson said the meeting went well, as he and Caserio spent time watching tapes and getting to know one another.

Anderson said he is excited about the possibility of getting drafted by the Texans. He has also met with the Chicago Bears, who hold the No. 1 pick of the draft.

"What I bring to the table is consistency and being humble," Anderson said. "Whatever culture I am in; I will do things the right way. And that is what sets me apart. It shows that all of the hard work has paid off. The sacrifices, blood, sweat, and tears to get up to this moment — it's a blessing."

Anderson is entering the draft as arguably the top-rated prospect and pass rusher. In three seasons with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Anderson recorded 205 tackles and 34.5 sacks in 114 career games.

The players he has studied to help enhance his game are Nick Bosa, Khalil Mack and Von Miller.

Anderson stated he met with a total of seven teams Wednesday afternoon.

"I’ve been here through this Combine process," coach DeMeco Ryans said. "I’ve played the game and played at a high level. I understand what players go through. Not only on the field, but it’s off the field, where guys are pulled in a lot of different directions.

"I understand that for you to be able to be a good coach, you have to be able to connect with guys."
