Three Titans Make Appearance on Top 100 List from CBS Sports
NASHVILLE — Derrick Henry, Kevin Byard and Jeffery Simmons are unquestionably the top three players on the Titans' roster and some of the best are their respective positions in the entire NFL. All three landed on a recent Top 100 players list by Pete Prisco of CBS Sports.
30. Derrick Henry
Henry comes in as the second-highest ranked running back on the list behind San Francisco 49er Christian McCaffery. Seems like a fair ranking for Henry who continues to dominate the NFL regardless of injury or the talent around him. Henry ranks just above other top backs like Nick Chubb and Jonathan Taylor who came in at 33 and 36, respectively.
Prisco's Analysis:
"Playing behind a terrible offensive line, he finished second in the league in rushing with 1,538 yards and also scored 13 touchdowns. He turns 30 next January, so you have to wonder if he will start slowing down."
43. Jeffery Simmons
Simmons makes the list as the sixth-highest ranked interior defensive lineman behind Aaron Donald, Chris Jones, Quinnen Williams, Dexter Lawrence and Cam Heyward. You could argue for Simmons to be higher, but the next interior defensive lineman, DeForest Buckner, to show up doesn't come until 65, so clearly Simmons is in an elite group.
Prisco's Analysis:
"He played through some injuries last year and it showed. He wasn't as dominant. But when healthy, he's one of the best inside players in the game."
100. Kevin Byard
Byard sneaks on the list in the last spot. If you go through the list entirely, it simply doesn't make sense to have Byard ranked this low. Names like Christian Kirk, Patrick Peterson and Shaquille Leonard are some of the most perplexing. Being on the list is nice, but certainly not high enough to capture Byard's value.
Prisco's Analysis:
"His play wasn't quite as good as in 2021, but he still remains one of the better safeties in the league. He has nine picks the past two seasons."
