Titans Complete Coaching Interview with Carolina Panthers OC Thomas Brown
NASHVILLE — Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Thomas Brown became the sixth NFL assistant to interview for the Tennessee Titans coaching opening.
Brown had a virtual meeting with Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk and general manager Ran Carthon on Thursday to discuss the vacancy created on Jan. 9 after the team dismissed former coach Mike Vrabel.
Brown's interview was virtual because NFL rules mandate that teams wait until Jan. 22 to conduct in-person interviews.
During the 2023 offseason, Brown interviewed for the Houston Texans coaching position, which ultimately went to DeMeco Ryans. Before joining the NFL coaching staff of the Los Angeles Rams in 2020, Brown spent 10 years coaching college football, with two stints at his alma mater, the University of Georgia.
Brown served as the assistant head coach for the Rams under Sean McVay before becoming the offensive coordinator for the Panthers.
Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan, Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka, Raiders interim coach Antonio Pierce, and Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald have interviewed for the job.
Reports surfaced on Wednesday that Callahan will get a second, in-person interview at the team facility.
Aaron Glenn and Ben Johnson from the Detroit Lions, Bobby Slowik from the Houston Texans, and Brian Johnson from the Philadelphia Eagles are the remaining interview requests for the Titans.
