Auburn's 2024 recruiting class is elite and one of the recruits is more dynamic than many know.

While the Tigers did well to land top-notch defensive line prospects like Amaris Williams and Malik Blocton, as well as wide receivers Perry Thompson and Cam Coleman, there are other special athletes in the recruiting class.

One of them would be Malcolm Simmons from Alexander City (Ala.) Benjamin Russell. As a track athlete, the future Auburn receiver is now an Alabama State Champion in the high jump as well as it being the Alabama indoor state record.

His post on X defines the high jump as #1 in Alabama as well as being the third-best high jump in the United States this year. The mark Simmons reached would 6-foot-10.5. That's quite an accomplishment. Simmons' talents are being noticed by football recruiting services as well.

According to Rivals, Simmons is a 4-star recruit. Additionally, he's listed as an athlete by Rivals instead of just a receiver. It's for a good reason.

According to Max Preps, the 2023 season saw Simmons catch 60 passes for 1,279 yards, a 21.3 average, and 14 touchdowns. He's also a kick returner and has experience as a running back, with 8 rushing scores.

With all of Simmons' skills, he possesses the talent to even play in Auburn's defensive secondary as well. He's going to play receiver for the Tigers, and it's doubtful many opponents will out-jump him for a 50-50 ball.

His senior highlight film is certainly worth an Auburn fan's time to check out. Auburn's recruiting class is big-time and Simmons is one of the key recruits that makes it so.

Congratulations to Simmons on his high jump title and breaking the state record!
