Bob Huggins Uses Homophobic Slur Multiple Times During 700 WLW Interview
CINCINNATI — UC basketball coaching legend Bob Huggins used a homophobic slur during an interview with 700 WLW's Bill Cunningham on Monday.
Steve Norris first reported the interaction as the two were discussing an incident during one of the Crosstown Shootouts Huggins coached during his UC run.
UC's all-time winningest head coach said Xavier players wouldn't transfer to West Virginia because "Catholics don't do that." He then used the slur.
Huggins: “Any school that can throw rubber penises on the floor and then say they didn’t do it, by god they can get away with anything.”
Cunningham: “I think it was transgender night wasn’t it?”
Huggins: “It was a Crosstown Shootout, yeah, no, what it was, was all those f***, those Catholic f***, I think.”
Cunningham: “All right.”
Huggins: “They were envious they didn’t have one.”
The current West Virginia head coach just got inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and is one of the winningest coaches in CBB history.
Huggins won 398 games with the Bearcats from 1990-05. Listen to the full clip below.
