Report: UC Quarterback Ben Bryant Entering Transfer Portal, May Return to Program
CINCINNATI — UC's quarterback competition just got another wrinkle as Ben Bryant is reportedly entering the transfer portal.
Multiple reports say Bryant is entering the portal, but will keep the option of returning to UC open as Scott Satterfield keeps his starting QB choice a mystery before Fall Camp.
Bryant and Emory Jones have been locked in a tight battle all spring, but both are entering their final years of eligibility. Jones' skill set fits the offense a tad better, and he performed well in the spring game.
It wasn't enough for Satterfield to publicly announce him as the starter, but it was enough to keep Jones out of the portal until further notice.
Bryant passed for 2,732 yards (50th nationally), 21 TDs (44th), and 7 interceptions (51st) last season.
