Indiana Transfer Guard Rob Phinisee Places Cincinnati in Top-Two Choices

CINCINNATI — The Bearcats made another cut in the eyes of a transfer guard. Indiana's Rob Phinisee narrowed his list down to Cincinnati and Butler.

The senior averaged 4.5 points and 2.1 rebounds for Indiana last season. His playing time dropped from 27 minutes to 18 minutes per game, and he struggled to maintain his shooting efficiency.

Phinisee posted a 38.3% true shooting mark last year. For context, C.J. Anthony (27.5%) was the only Bearcat to post a mark worse than that in 2021-22, and Anthony played just 15 minutes all season. Phinisee posted a 47.5% TS rate in 2019-20 and it's fallen off steadily since then.

Despite those issues, Phinisee is ranked as Evan Miya's 78th-best transfer overall and 26th-ranked point guard.

If he does choose Cincinnati, the Bearcats would be rather small in the backcourt. Incoming freshman Daniel Skillings (6-foot-5) would be far and away the tallest player at the 1-or-2 spot. Veteran Mika Adams-Woods is 6-foot-3, and David Dejulius is 6-foot.
