CINCINNATI — Bearcats cornerback Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner didn't work out on Thursday at Cincinnati's Pro Day, but he did talk with a plethora of NFL coaches and scouts.

The 21-year-old is considered the top cornerback in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Texans head coach Lovie Smith had a private meeting with Gardner after the Pro Day ended according to Aaron Wilson of Pro Football Network. Houston has the third and 13th overall picks.

The Texans would probably have to take Gardner with the third overall pick. He isn't making out of the top 10 in most mock drafts.

Smith is a defensive minded head coach, so it makes sense that Houston could consider taking a cornerback with the third pick.

All 32 teams were at Cincinnati's Pro Day and five NFL head coaches were in attendance: Zac Taylor, Mike Tomlin, Mike Vrabel, Ron Rivera and Smith.
