CINCINNATI — The transfer portal is officially wide open in college basketball and at least one Bearcat is testing those waters. Sophomore guard Mason Madsen announced he is exploring other school options on Wednesday.

Madsen's playing time reduced from 19.6 minutes per game in 2020 to 11.6 MPG this season. He averaged 3.9 points and 1.3 rebounds, with every one of his stats dropping besides his career-high 36.3% three-point mark.

Cincinnati will need to prioritize shooting talent on its foray into the portal. They ranked 285th nationally in outside shooting percentage (31.5%) this season, and Madsen led all Bearcats in three-point percentage.
