2022 NFL Combine Check-In: Desmond Ridder and Alec Pierce Notch Eye-Popping Testing Results

Both players are entering the draft with elite athletic profiles.

CINCINNATI — Analysts expected impressive showings from Alec Pierce and Desmond Ridder in the testing portion of the 2022 NFL Combine, but they blew those thoughts away.

The former Bearcats posted some of the best numbers ever seen at their respective positions since 1987. Starting with Ridder, Kent Lee Platte reports that Ridder has the 18th-best Relative Athletic Score among QBs since 1987.

He motored to a blistering 4.49 40-yard dash on Thursday to become the fastest active NFL quarterback.

Ridder's official 40-yard dash, broad jump, and vertical jump were all tops among 2022 QBs. He also spun it well in the throwing session.

Alec Pierce was similarly impressive on Thursday. According to Kent Lee Platte, Pierce ranks 97th in Relative Athletic Score among receivers since 1987.

It's not every day you get that type of speed in a 6-foot-3, 211-pound package. According to Mike Clay, He finished fourth among wide receivers in speed score which takes into account 40-yard dash time and bodyweight.

Pierce's official measurements slated him ninth among WRs in the 40-yard dash, first in the vertical jump, sixth in the broad jump, fourth in the 20-yard shuttle, and fifth in the three-cone drill. Thursday was a banner day for Cincinnati's best passing duo last season, and the fun is just beginning form former Bearcats at Lucas Oil Stadium.
