Report: UC Basketball Guard Mika Adams-Woods Enters Transfer Portal
CINCINNATI — UC guard Mika Adams-Woods has entered the transfer portal. The Athletic's Tobias Bass reported the news as Cincinnati adds another roster spot to try and upgrade its roster before the Big 12.
Adams-Woods confirmed on social media last month that he'd return for 2023-24, but things have changed. The senior spent all four years at UC and just had a career-best season.
"I want to thank you for making Cincinnati my home for the last 4 years," Adams-Woods wrote on Instagram. "I will always cherish my time and experience in Cincinnati. I am extremely grateful for my coaches and teammates. They've done a lot for me. That being said, it's time for me to get a fresh start so I am exploring my options in the transfer portal. Once again, THANK YOU Cincinnati!"
Adams-Woods averaged career-highs in points (9.1), assists (3.2), and shooting percentage (43%) in his senior campaign. He was good friends with former UC wing Jeremiah Davenport, who transferred to Arkansas.
Cincinnati could use some more defensive depth at the three or four spot on next year's team.
