Weekly NET: Bearcats Move Up Slightly In Rankings

Cincinnati is running out of time to make a strong NCAA Tournament case.

CINCINNATI — A 1-1 week moved Cincinnati up a bit in the NET rankings, but the loss to Memphis was a brutal blow.

UC is 81st in the rankings, the fourth-ranked team in the AAC behind Houston (first), Memphis (37th), and UCF (56th). UC only plays Houston this week in what's become a must-win game.

It didn't help the Bearcats that the Cougars just lost a Quad 3 game against Temple 56-55 over the weekend. Cincinnati needs all of its remaining opponents to win as much as possible.

That's the spot they are in right now with an 0-6 record against Quad 1 and Quad 2 teams—while also having two Quad 3 losses. The program hasn't notched any kind of signature win since Nov. 2021.
