Winners and Losers from Cincinnati's 75-57 loss to TCU

The Cincinnati Bearcats NCAA Tournament chances continue to slip away following their 75-57 loss to TCU on Saturday.
In this story:

CINCINNATI — The Bearcats have now fallen in four of their last five games following their loss on Saturday, as their NCAA Tournament chances decreased by nearly 40% over the past two weeks.

Cincinnati got completely outplayed by the Horned Frogs in all aspects across the 75-57 defeat.

Winners

Day Day Thomas willed the Bearcats on Saturday finishing with a team-high 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting. The junior guard was doing whatever he could to keep the Bearcats afloat in this one, but the Horned Frogs were able to contain him on Saturday. Thomas led the team with 21 points, six assists, and three steals in the first matchup back in January.

Viktor Lakhin recorded the most minutes over the last two weeks after not playing in the Bearcats contests vs UCF or Oklahoma State over the last week. Lakhin finished with just two points, two rebounds and two assists in fifteen minutes of action off the bench in Saturday's loss.

This could be a step in the right direction as the seven-footer looks to gain his confidence back after a rough two weeks, where he saw his role significantly decrease.

Losers

Wes Miller and the Bearcats have now fallen in four of their last five games.

However, Bearcats fans need to be patient and really trust the process, especially with the gauntlet of a schedule the Bearcats had to deal with this season.

Sophomore guard Dan Skillings Jr. had a rough day on Saturday as the talented wing finished with just nine points on 4-of-13 shooting. Skillings also had a poor showing on the offensive end as he led the Bearcats with four turnovers in their loss, as Cincinnati piled on 17 turnovers in a must-win game.

Jizzle James also had one of his worst shooting performances finishing just 2-of-11 from the field on Saturday. TCU was doing a great job at finding ways to bring the pressure and get the freshman uncomfortable early which resulted in a team-high four turnovers. James was a part of the rotation that featured Thomas early in the first half that sparked an 8-0 run to give the Bearcats their first and only lead of the contest.

However, that is a growing moment for James, who has started to see his role increase over the recent weeks. Jizzle recorded a new career high in minutes after playing 25 in Saturday's loss.
