Ahmad 'Sauce' Gardner Leads NFL in Major Stat, Cements Jets' Win With Game-Sealing Play

The star is on a fast-track to win Defensive Rookie of the Year.

CINCINNATI — Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner is making big plays a regular occurrence as he approaches midseason of his rookie New York Jets campaign. He played fantastic in the Jets 16-9 win over Denver, stamping the day with a game-sealing pass break up.

He finished with a team-high ten tackles (nine solo), and three pass break ups. The three added PBUs pushed his total to 12 on the season—the most of any NFL player before Monday Night Football.

Gardner is defining the term "shutdown cornerback" and he's only seven games into his NFL career.
