CINCINNATI — Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner didn't play in the New York Jets preseason finale for a very good reason. Head coach Robert Saleh Announced the rookie is starting week one against the Baltimore Ravens.

"He's gonna be our week one starter," Saleh told the media. "He's been fantastic. Bryce Hall has had a really good training camp also, but at the same time with the overall body of work since OTAs, it's clear the kids going to be pretty good."

Sauce had to wait a little bit to start as a freshman at UC, but he sped that process up even more with Gang Green.

According to PFF, this should come as no surprise given he was the only player in the NFL to play at least 20 coverage snaps and not be targeted this preseason.

Fans can watch Gardner matchup with the Raven on Sept. 11.
