CINCINNATI — East Carolina QB Holton Ahlers made quite the accusation against Bearcats safety Bryon Threats following Friday's 27-25 loss to UC.

Threats knocked RB Keaton Mitchell out with a targeting penalty late in the third quarter. Ahlers is convinced Threats did it on purpose.

“I 100% think they were trying to take him out, it was a dirty play, and they’re known for that so that’s all I’m going to comment on that.”

Here is the play that knocked Mitchell out, and hampered the ECU rushing attack for the rest of the game. The Pirates lost their first game of the season when Mitchell went over 100 yards rushing. They were 5-0 in those contests this year.
