MACON — The Cincinnati Bearcats did what they had to do to beat Navy 20-10 today at Nippert Stadium. The win lifts Cincinnati to 7-2 on the season and 4-1 in the American Athletic Conference.

Was it pretty? No. But was it successful? Yes, and that's what matters.

Cincinnati remains very much alive in the race for an AAC Championship.

Here are four stars from today's game:

1. QB Ben Bryant (25/35, 299 yds, 2 TD)

There was a lot of frustration hurled at the Bearcats quarterback after last week's loss at UCF. Today, he silenced his critics.

Bryant looked poised, accurate, and confident. He now has a three-to-one TD: INT ratio this season, and hopefully, this is the beginning of a November surge to drive the Bearcats to a conference championship.

2. WR Tyler Scott (10 rec., 139 yds, 2 TD)

Scott is the engine of this offense. When 100 percent, look out!

Scott delivered deep down the field and after the catch against Navy.

Each of his TD catches in the last two years have gone for 20 or more yards, and he is averaging over 17 yards per catch in 2022.

3. LB Ivan Pace Jr. (14 TKL, sack, 2 TFL) and DT Dontay Corleone (11 TKL)

These two maulers are PFF's top two defenders in college football, and their performances on Saturday showed why.

In a game that stressed the middle of the defense thanks to Navy's triple option—Pace and Corleone were ready. Pace backed up his semifinal nominations to the Butkus and Bednarik Awards, and Corleone is quickly making himself an NFL Draft prospect to watch in 2024.

UP NEXT: A Nip at Night game against a surging ECU team. The Pirates and their top-25 offense have won three straight games, including wins over future Big 12 schools in UCF and BYU.

Cincinnati has won four straight over the Pirates, including the last two by a combined score of 90-30.
