Jason Kelce Discusses Setting Eagles Franchise Start Streak: 'Very Lucky'
CINCINNATI — UC football legend Jason Kelce set a huge record this past Sunday, becoming the Philadelphia Eagles' all-time leader in consecutive games started (145).
He passed former offensive lineman Jon Runyan who notched his streak in Philadelphia during the 2000s.
"I don't like talking about it because it feels like every time somebody gets close to these records or whatnot, it doesn't go well," Kelce said tepidly on The New Heights Podcast presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment. "First of all, it's an honor to play that long with an organization, and certainly very lucky to have played that many games straight. I will talk about Jon Runyan a little bit, a lot of people don't know Jon Runyan played with a broken tailbone during that stretch."
Kelce seems like a first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Fame lock at this point of his illustrious NFL career. It'll be interesting to see if he comes back for another season in 2024.
