CINCINNATI — UC football kicked off Fall Camp this week, and a key part of the team's 2023 success will come through the rushing attack.

Head coach Scott Satterfield discussed the room on Tuesday.

"I do think it'll be several guys, not just one," Satterfield said. "I do think it's gonna be a by-committee approach. Unless one or two guys really just stand out over the next couple of weeks. But I think that group works hard. You know, I think we've had some injuries in there. You think about last year and I also think about the time we've been here, had some guys dinged up and not being able to go all the time. So that'll play into it as well. But we got some good talent in that room."

Myles Montgomery stood out to me above all others in this new scheme, with Corey Kiner and Ethan Wright looking strong as well. Running back is luckily the deepest room on offense in a system that often requires multiple impact players throughout the grind of a Power Five season.

It'll be interesting to see how much the team leans on Montgomery or splits the load.

"Corey Kiner's a guy who's been as consistent as anybody," Satterfield said. "In his time when he was at LSU and he showed some flashes here last year as well. And I think he could be a really good back for us. You know, there's several guys. ... That room is gonna have a lot of competition. I'm looking forward to seeing which guys really shine when we start to scrimmage and we start getting into situational football, like who's really going to make those plays when we have to grind out those first downs, make a guy miss and you know get an extra two or three yards to get that first down. I'm really looking forward to that."
