CINCINNATI — Former Bearcats defensive end Myjai Sanders was released by the Cardinals on Tuesday. It didn't take him long to find a new home.

Sanders was claimed by the Houston Texans according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The Cardinals picked him in the third round (100th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. He had 23 tackles and three sacks in 13 games as a rookie. He hasn't played this season due to a hand injury.

Sanders joins a Texans team that has exceeded expectations so far this season. Houston released Cory Littleton to make room on their roster for the former Bearcats star.

The 25-year-old spent four seasons at the University of Cincinnati. He finished with 119 tackles (24.5 for loss), 13.5 sacks and 12 passes defensed in 42 career games.

The Bearcats posted a 42-9 record with Sanders in Clifton, winning at least nine games in each of the past four seasons. They finished the regular season undefeated and qualified for the College Football Playoff in 2021.
