UC Lands Commitment From Louisville Transfer Wide Receiver Braden Smith

Cincinnati is back to having two WR additions this cycle.

CINCINNATI — The Bearcats lost a wide receiver commitment this week but quickly replaced them with a commitment from Louisville WR Braden Smith.

He is using his final year of eligibility at UC.

The 5-foot-10, 185-pound senior caught 21 passes for 215 yards and 1 touchdown in Scott Satterfield's offense last season. He appeared in 13 games (eight starts) last season.

His underlying metrics paint a rough 2022 picture. Smith was the second-worst player among all qualified ACC wide receivers (min. 32 targets) by PFF grade last season (54 overall). He caught just 21 of 46 targets.

Smith can play outside and in the slot as a depth piece for the Bearcats. He primarily played as a slot weapon last season (88% of snaps).

He's also an experienced special teamer with 142 career special teams snaps (61.8 ST grade in 2022).
