UC Safety Armorion Smith, Cornerback Malik Rainey Enter Transfer Portal

Cincinnati is searching for secondary help in the portal.

CINCINNATI — UC safety Armorion Smith and cornerback Malik Rainey are entering the transfer portal.

Cincinnati shook up the safety hierarchy during Spring Practice. Players like Taj Ward and transfer D.J. Taylor were playing safety a lot this spring alongside Bryon Threats.

Smith was a rotational piece on the backend last season, totaling 20 tackles over 12 games.

As for Rainey, the redshirt sophomore appeared in two games last season and posted 1 tackle. Cincinnati has now had five players enter the portal since the 2023 Spring Game.
