Ahmad 'Sauce' Gardner, Nick Van Exel Highlight UC Athletes Graduating From School
CINCINNATI — UC's summer graduation ceremony has a pair of stars walking to get their diplomas.
Former All-American cornerback Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner and former basketball guard Nick Van Exel are graduating from the school this weekend.
Gardner earned All-American status in 2021 after going his entire college career without allowing a touchdown in pass coverage. He was an integral part of the College Football Playoff run that season.
Van Exel had similar postseason success from 1991-93 as a key cog in the team's run to the 1992 Final Four and 1993 Elite Eight. Van Exel averaged 15.2 points and 3.6 assists at UC before playing 13 seasons in the NBA with six different teams.
