CINCINNATI — This has been a busy week on the recruiting trail for UC football as they try to reshape the 2023 class under new head coach Scott Satterfield. Cincinnati just cracked the top-eight schools for one of the best QBs in the 2024 class, and they aren't slowing down.

A few current commits are coming in for a reset visit this weekend, but we'll get to those after the latest offers.

Things start with four-star 2023 athlete Jamari Johnson out of Inglewood (California).

According to 247Sports Composite, Johnson is the 414th-ranked recruit nationally and the 27th-rated athlete. He is currently committed to Louisville and is a part of the California contingent that new QBs coach Pete Thomas recruited to be Cardinals.

No recruit I've watched since starting my coverage last year has wowed me as much as Johnson. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound force is an absolute monster at the outside receiver position. He tracks more as a tight end at the next level, but Inglewood is putting him in all the right positions to make plays.

He has elite speed for that size and an unrelenting hunger for the endzone. I watched Johnson hurdle, and carry multiple defenders for scores. The ball skills and route running is moderately polished, but he makes up for them with sheer will. Johnson's also a nice blocker near the line of scrimmage and in the open field.

Next up is 2024 four-star athlete Kylan Fox out of Grayson (Georgia).

According to 247Sports Composite, Fox is the 193rd-ranked player nationally and the 24th-rated athlete. ESPN has him ranked 250th and 28th among athletes. Cincinnati originally offered him on Aug. 2nd.

At 6-foot-5, 215 pounds, Fox has all the physical makings of a great UC tight end, just like Johnson. He is a mauling defensive end on the other side of the ball and brings that mentality to his in-line blocking ability.

The nasty edge/block-through-the-whistle traits are evident in his film, and he is a man amongst boys in the receiving game. It remains to be seen how dynamic he can be running a diverse set of routes, but college coaching should hammer that out.

Fox's recruitment appears pretty wide open right now. On3 has Georgia (18%), Georgia Tech (11.9%), and NC State (10.2%) all in the mix, while Louisville sat at 5.8% when Satterfield was still there.

Moving to the visits, One player fans might not be as familiar with is three-star 2024 cornerback Corey Myrick out of Colerain (Ohio).

According to 247Sports, Myrick is the 62nd-ranked cornerback in his class and the 35th-rated Ohio recruit. He currently just has offers from MAC Schools (Toledo, Central Michigan, Kent State, Miami)

The hybrid cover man can play free safety and cornerback, plus he made some big plays on special teams this season.

Myrick is a bit thin but has the frame to be a strong outside cornerback at UC. He stands at 6-foot-2, 165 pounds, but hits like he's 250. Myrick isn't afraid to drop a howitzer shot in the open field, a "Blackcats" specialty.

Another newcomer is current three-star Louisville cornerback commit Rayquan Adkins out of Northwestern (Florida).

According to 247Sports Composite, Adkins is the 841st-ranked recruit nationally and the 80th-rated cornerback.

He plays bigger than his measurements at 5-foot-11, 155 pounds. Adkins is solid in coverage showing fluid hips and nice ball-tracking skills in the air. Add in his home-run ability as a returner and the trajectory gets even more intriguing.

A few more notable visitors this coming weekend are both UC commits in three-stars Ty Perkins and Brian "Mook" Simms III.

UPDATE: More visitors are trickling in, most notably their highest rated commit remaining in the 2023 class, four-star QB Brady Drogosh.

Finally, we close with three-star 2023 safety Jayden Davis de-committing from Louisville after visiting with new UC defensive coordinator Bryan Brown and linebackers coach Derek Nicholson.
