Updated ACC Baseball Standings: 5/15
It is coming down to the final week of the season and Georgia Tech is still fighting to make sure they have a spot in the ACC Tournament, but they are in a much better position after taking two out of three games from Duke.
The Yellow Jackets (12-15, 30-21) have been on the ACC bubble for the past month, but they have played well enough down the stretch to where it looks like they are going to make the ACC Tournament.
The matchup they have this week is with the leaders of the Coastal Division, Virginia (16-11. 41-11). UVA is trying to wrap up the Coastal, but they don't have a lot of room for error against Georgia Tech this weekend because of the logjam of teams that is behind them trying to win it.
Miami (16-11, 34-21) is tied with Virginia for the lead in the division and they are followed by Duke (15-11, 34-16) and North Carolina (14-11, 33-17) are right behind both of them. Duke and Miami play each other this weekend, while North Carolina faces Clemson.
Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech (11-15, 29-19), and Pitt (10-15, 22-27) are the bottom three teams in the division.
The Atlantic Division is still being run by Wake Forest (20-6, 42-8). The Demon Deacons have been the best team in the conference all season long and they are going to be the team to beat in the ACC Tournament.
Clemson (17-10, 35-17) is comfortably in second place in the division while Boston College (14-13, 32-16) and Notre Dame (14-13, 29-19) are behind them.
NC State (10-16, 31-18) and Louisville (9-18, 29-22) are trying to make sure they make the ACC Tournament and need wins. Louisville plays last-place Florida State (7-20, 20-30) this weekend and NC State plays Notre Dame.
