College Football Recruiting might have the headlines in the month of July, but basketball programs are still working on building their 2024 classes and that includes Damon Stoudamire and Georgia Tech.

There is not much to share as far as basketball recruiting goes this week, but the headliner was an official visit from one of the top high school guards in the country.

Let's recap it here.

1. Georgia Tech gets an official visit from 2024 four-star guard Curtis Givens III

Recently, Givens named his top seven schools and had the Yellow Jackets among them.

LSU, Memphis, Texas, UConn, Indiana, and Villanova are the other schools that made Givens's top 7.

That is a great group of schools to be competing against for a top prospect. UConn is fresh off of a national championship and among the favorites to win it again next season. Memphis, Indiana, Texas, and Villanova are powerhouse schools in recruiting.

Givens is ranked No. 74 overall in the 247Sports Composite and the No. 10 point guard in the country. One of the ways that Georgia Tech can get back to winning games and making the postseason is by winning recruiting battles such as these and while there is still plenty of time for Givens to make his decision, making the top seven and getting an official visit is a nice first step for Stoudamire and his staff.

2. Former Georgia Tech Forward Jalon Moore commits to Oklahoma

Last season, Moore averaged 7.6 PPG and 4.7 RPG on 43% shooting from the floor. He played in 32 games and averaged 20.5 minutes per game.

Guard Deivon Smith, guard Tristan Maxwell, center Cyril Martynov, forward Freds Pauls Bagatskis, forward Jordan Meka, and center Rodney Howard have all entered the transfer portal as well. Howard and Smith have been contributors over the past couple of seasons, but the others had small roles.

Kowacie Reeves (Florida), Ebenezer Dowuona (NC State), Tyzhaun Claude (Western Carolina), Tafara Gapare (UMass), Amaree Abram (Ole Miss), and Jalen Forrest (Presbyterian) are the transfers joining the program this offseason.
