Report: Pitt Transfer John Hugley Will Visit Georgia Tech
One of the best transfers that is currently in the transfer portal is going to be taking a visit to Georgia Tech in the coming days.
According to a report from Joe Tipton at On3 Sports, former Pitt Panther John Hugley is going to be taking a visit to Georgia Tech on March 26-28th.
Hugley is listed as a 6'9 240 LBS center and is a former four-star prospect. He is currently the 19th-ranked player in the transfer portal according to 247Sports.
Hugley averaged 8.0 PPG, 3.6 RPG, and 0.8 APG last season for the Panthers. It should be noted that he only played in eight games this past season before he decided to sit out the season to focus on his mental health. The season prior, Hugley averaged 14.8 PPG and 7.9 RPG for Pitt.
Here is the high school scouting report on Hugley from 247Sports:
"John Hugley is a traditional center who is a big body that has soft hands and knows how to play inside the paint. Hugley uses his wide frame and good strength to carve out space on the offensive end, and uses angles well to score. He has slimmed down as his high school career has gone on, and that has allowed him to become a bit more mobile, but he is likely to always struggle in ball screen situations on the defensive end. Look for him to be someone who makes a big impact rebounding his area, and also being a physical post defender who is a reliable low block scorer. His skill level is getting better in the mid-range and beyond, but the strength of his game is close to the rim, where his natural size can make him a problem for defenses to deal with."
