Updated ACC Recruiting Rankings: 8/18

North Carolina, Pitt, and Miami made moves with new commitments this week

High School Football season is in full swing around the country, but college football recruiting is still rolling on, especially in the ACC.

It was a big week for programs that are still chasing Florida State and Clemson. Miami received two big commitments this week and Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes are closing in on the Tigers for the No. 2 class in the ACC. 

Four-star defensive end Elias Rudolph and three-star offensive tackle Kavion Broussard joined the Hurricanes class this week and both were huge additions. Rudolph was flipped from Michigan, which has had one of the top classes in the country for the majority of the 2024 recruiting cycle. He is one of the best pass rushers in the state of Florida and it was a huge win for Cristobal and his staff to land him. 

Miami has two major targets coming off the board this month in five-star defensive tackles David Stone and Kamarion Franklin. If Miami lands one or both, they can make a push for the conference's top class for the second year in a row. 

Florida State still holds the top class in the conference and has 15 four and five-star prospects committed. The Seminoles have the No. 5 class overall and Mike Norvell and staff have done an excellent job. 

Clemson remains the No. 2 in the ACC, but Miami is making a push to pass the Tigers. It will be interesting to see how Dabo Swinney and the Tigers staff close this class out. 

North Carolina remains solid at No. 4 and picked up a commitment from three-star wide receiver Javarius Green this week. The Tar Heels are still behind Miami for the No. 3 spot and just barely ahead of Georgia Tech for No. 5. 

Speaking of Brent Key and the Yellow Jackets, they remain with the No. 5 class and have 26 commits. Key has done a good job of building this class for the Yellow Jackets and they remain solidly in the No. 5 spot, but the could catch North Carolina down the stretch.

Pitt has jumped from 8th last week to 6th this week. Three-star defensive lineman Sincere Edwards committed to the Panthers and considering how well Pitt does at developing defensive lineman once they get on campus, Edwards should be firmly on the radar for all programs. 

Due to Pitt jumping up to No. 6, Virginia Tech got bumped back a spot to No. 7 and Duke was bumped back a spot to No. 8. 

NC State has moved up from 10 to 9 after a commitment from three-star wide receiver Terrell Anderson. Dave Doeren has crept up the rankings over the past two weeks and are not far from catching Duke, VA Tech, and Pitt. 

Wake Forest has gone from 11th to 10th this week and Syracuse has gone back to 11th after being 9th last week. 

Louisville, Virginia, and Boston College remain 12th-14th.
