Georgia Tech is coming off of a disappointing finish to their game against Ole Miss. The Yellow Jackets had the game within a touchdown in the 4th quarter, but could not get any closer. The Rebels would pull away and win by 25, but there were plenty of positives to take away from the game and they hope to continue to improve this weekend against Wake Forest, who is 3-0.

One thing that did happen in the Ole Miss game was some players went down, notably punter David Shanahan and starting right tackle Jordan Williams. Shanahan was hurt on a blocked field goal for Ole Miss.

Yellow Jackets head coach Brent Key held his weekly media availability today and when asked about both players and their status for this week against Wake Forest, here is what Key had to say:

"Jordan (Williams) came back, David (Shanahan) came back also and I told him that I don't know much about Irish culture, but I know who Conor McGregor is and he is pretty tough so I imagine everyone is pretty tough. He said that when he got knocked down after the blocked field goal, he was laying on the ground and all he could think about was me standing over him and yelling at him not to be on the ground so he jumped up really quick and left the field so that obviously worked. Jordan is fine, he was a full go today."

This is great news for Georgia Tech. Shanahan has not had to punt much but has been effective when he has. Williams is the starting right tackle and one of the team's leaders.

Key did not give an update on wide receiver Chase Lane, who did not play last weekend and is not listed on the depth chart for this week. Lane is an important piece to the offense, but the offense spreads the ball around and gets different receivers involved, so they should be able to survive until Lane gets back.

Georgia Tech travels to Wake Forest this Saturday and the game will kick off at 6:30 and be televised on the CW Network.
