Everything From Ace Eley After Georgia Tech's Pro Day

Former Georgia Tech linebacker Ace Eley had a good showing at Pro Day

Georgia Tech had one of the best pairs of linebackers in the ACC last season and both of them put on a good showing today at Georgia Tech's Pro Day. Scouts from all 32 NFL teams were in attendance to see seven former Yellow Jackets work out and one of them was linebacker Ace Eley.

Eley had a season for the ages in 2022 by totaling 118 tackles, 3.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and three pass deflections. It was surprising to see him not get an NFL Combine invite, but he had a big opportunity to show out today and he worked out well.

Eley also spoke with the media briefly after his workout and here is what he had to say:

1. On how he felt like he performed...

" I felt like I did good, still some things to improve upon, nothing was perfect, but I felt like it was a good day for me."

2. On not being invited to the Combine and his pre-draft process...

"Those guys that were invited to the combine, I can compete with those guys, put up numbers with those guys and like you said, productive with those guys. I didn.t get invited to the combine and that is what it is, I just wanted a chance to compete."

3. On how he felt with the pressure of working out...

"I felt good, I have been preparing for it for the last couple of months and everything, get out here and put it on paper, it felt good.

4. On the traits he feels he has to fit into a 4-3 or 3-4 defense...

"I feel like I have traits to fit both schemes and I understand both schemes, I think that I can play all three downs and you're getting a hard worker that is going to play every snap 100%, every game 100% and go out there and make as many plans as I can."

5. On his ability to play special teams...

"I am comfortable playing all special teams in my career, I have played all special teams before, kickoff, kickoff return, field goal block, punt, punt return. Special teams is not a problem for me, any way that I can get on the field, I am good with.

6. On where he trained and where he is with weight

"I trained at Elite U in Scottsdale, Arizona. I am probably about the same, weighing in at 230 LBS and that is normally what I was. I felt like I did good testing and everything.
