Everything From Charlie Thomas At Georgia Tech's Pro Day
After having a good performance at the 2023 NFL Combine, former Georgia Tech linebacker Charlie Thomas showed up at Georgia Tech's Pro Day looking to further elevate his draft stock. He looked crisp when doing drills and you could see the explosiveness that made him such a good playmaker for the Yellow Jackets last season.
Thomas caught up with the media after Pro Day had ended and here is what he had to say:
1. On his goals for the day and what he wanted to show...
"I just wanted to show that I could move well in and out of breaks and do a lot of different things and not just be an old-school linebacker.
2. On what the predraft process has been like for him...
"Exciting. Just to be able to look back and when it is just a long time working out and being able to just sit back and think about where I have actually gotten up to this point in my life and just being able to take it all in and enjoy the process.
3. On if he is sensing the end of the pre-draft process...
"I feel like with my name being called in April, that is just the beginning of a long career that I plan to have and its exciting. Staying in shape and strong and just getting ready for the beginning.
4. On if there have been any ups and downs for him through this...
"I have just been trying to control what I can control and just gaining weight and being able to move like I want to and just go from there. I got invited to a bowl game and invited to the combine so for me I am just enjoying the process.
5. On discussions with other teams about working out...
"I have one with the Saints coming up and I am going to the Atlanta local day and I am sure that there will be some more.
6. On if there is a particular scheme that fits his talents at the next level...
"With my versatility, I can play different schemes and just be the best player and in any scheme, I could be.
7. On how he felt coming into today...
"I mean position drills, that is stuff I have been doing for forever. As far as like nerves, I was not that nervous, to be honest, but it was probably the 40, but after I got that out of the way and I got my time back, I was excited to keep going.
8. On what was going through his head as he was getting ready to run the 40...
"Just be loose. The time is going to be whatever it is so I am just trying to control what I can control and just thinking about keeping my head down and driving and different stuff to be successful that I thought was going to work.
